Poem - Murder to the Blind

People used to scare me,
But the tables now have turned,
Everything has changed,
I’m targeted to burn,
People used to leave me be,
But now they hunt me so,
People that won’t let me go,
Ones I don’t even know.

Accusing me of evil things,
From witchery to hate,
I try to just defend myself,
But now it is too late,
They have the ropes around the stake,
And tied to me as well,
They scream their words to frighten me,
They banish me to Hell.

"Freak! Witch! Hate! Hate!
Burn! Witch! Burn!
Go to Hell you animal!
There’s consequence to learn!
Rid us of your evil!
And the hate we give to you!
Die! Witch! Burn! Witch!
Now your life is through!

Worthless evil you’ve become!
The little boy we loved…
Now! Go to where you stay!
There’s no love from above!
You sadden us and anger us!
But we’ll keep that inside!
Start the flame! Burn the stake!
Die! Witch! Die!"

(Punishment in haste is Murder to the blind…)

The fire starts below,
But it’s spreading very fast!
I say my words to all of them,
My only words, my last,
"Listen all of you!" I say,
They spit at me and laugh,
I can’t believe they’re killing me,
Because of Witchcraft.

They shout their words of hatred,
And expect me just to die,
The flame is getting closer now,
And I begin to cry…
They laugh at me for all my tears,
"You’re Weak!" They say to me,
That is when I showed my rage…
Replied to them by three…

"I silence now everyone!
Listen to words I say!
Tonight may be my punishment,
But all of you will pay!
I never hurt anyone!
But maybe now, I should!
I haven’t done a crime at all,
Yet I burn with the wood!

My friends are now my enemies!
Tears of sadness turn to hate!
Don’t even try to apologize!
`Cause now it is too late!
I’ll be back to settle this!
You’ll wish I never died!
There won’t be a place to run!
Nowhere else to hide!"

(Murder to the blind leads to punishment inside…)

Twenty years pass by,
I’m waiting patiently,
I wait for them to all grow old,
And forget about me…
Even though I’m not alive,
I’ll come back just for them!
What they did to me was wrong,
That night, way back when…

Our anniversary has come,
It’s time to celebrate!
I’m walking down the lonely streets,
That used to fill with hate…
I visit every house of them,
The ones who hunted me,
I walk in as they’re alive,
I leave when they’re like me…

They scream on occasion,
They don’t see me `till it is too late,
They apologize to me,
For that night of burning hate,
I don’t even listen,
Because what was done is done,
They can’t go back and change it all,
Parents killed their son!

This night will fill with sadness,
Or the next morning to come,
When they all wake up to see the dead,
The ones that made me run,
The little boy that they all loved,
Is now the one who hates,
"It happened for a reason…"
Now, it is too late…

(Be careful what you do and the consequence of fate…)
