Poem - The Icicle Melts (Drip Drop Drip)

The icicle forms,
Grow, grow, grow,
Hardening with every drop,
That’s overtop the snow,
Balancing the naturalness,
That we all keep inside,
Go ahead and let it out,
No reason to hide.

The icicle melts,
Drip, drop, drip,
Pull me down with anger,
Let me see the painful grip,
Drop me in the water,
Let me dissolve with the sky,
See the anguish in your thoughts,
Now you watch me die.

The icicle breaks off,
Crack, snap, crack,
Showing me your emptiness,
The shades that cloak your back,
Rid me of the anger,
And the anguish you disguise,
Changes me and you, it does,
I’m the truth and you lie.

The icicle falls,
Crash, crash, crash,
Showing me no mercy,
With all my thoughts of the past,
Shattering to pieces,
Endless shards or frozen glass,
Now I am here, all alone,
My time is fading fast.

The icicle no more,
Tear, weep, cry,
The frozen life of all of us,
Has melted now inside,
Feeling now the emptiness,
You said was never there,
Drop me in the water,
Let me dissolve in the air..
